The steps below will show you how to use the ‘Discover Leads’ feature to get relevant Twitter followers fast.
1. Go to the “Manage” tab on the top of the screen.
2. Then “Discover Leads” side tab.
3. Select what approach you want to use to follow users by:
I. Finding users who follow someone similar to you
II. Finding list owners who have added someone similar to you to their Twitter lists
III. Finding users who retweet someone similar to you.
IV. Finding users based on a keyword search.
4. Type in the name of similar user to you.
5. Click on “Search” to base your search on this criteria alone or “Advanced Search” to narrow down your results by applying more criteria.
6. If you select “Advanced Search” for option I - III, you will be given the following options below:
Words the user description must contain and must not contain: Use these to narrow down the type of Twitter users that are shown. For example, we only wanted to follow Twitter users who were managers in the marketing department of their company and we did not want to follow users from other departments or positions.
The rest of the fields are designed to help filter out spam Twitter accounts so they don’t appear in the search results as legitimate accounts often have a profile image, description and a solid number of tweets and followers.
7. Click “Search”.
Tweets: The number of times a user has tweeted.
Following/Followers: This is the number of people the user is following and the number of people who are following them, respectively.
8. You can follow users by clicking on the green “Follow” button next to each following/follower count.
