How do you create real value from social media WITHOUT paying a ridiculous fee every month?
This is a question we asked ourselves last year when we were looking for a comprehensive social media tool.
Back then our marketing team was using several different tools to manage our Twitter and Facebook presence. Free tools, paid tools. You name it, we tried it.
We didn’t want to coast along through Twitter and Facebook, simply responding to users who engage with us. We wanted to delve deeper and discover Facebook and Twitter tools to improve our business goals through social media.
This meant everything from pinpointing new followers who could become potential customers, to understanding how valuable Twitter and Facebook was for achieving marketing objectives such as visits, signups and sales. Not an easy task, I can tell you that much.
We had to look beyond free tools to access these sophisticated features.
And if you have multiple team members like we do, the monthly amount takes its toll. Going from one user to multiple users results in price jumps of hundreds of dollars a month. This simply wasn’t feasible for a small-to-medium business like us.
Somehow we would have to find a way to follow in the footsteps of the ‘success kid’ in the meme above. And we couldn’t rely on being adorable to do it.
The solution
We’d been throwing around the idea of creating a comprehensive social media platform at a much lower cost than similar competitors. The kind of all-inclusive tool to manage, publish, monitor, engage and gather intelligence on their social marketing performance across all Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The idea started to grow legs after the frustration we felt at these high fees. But how do we go about this?
And then it hit us.
Why not take the best of what our competitors offered, put our own spin on it and integrate it into our very own platform, then priced it at a very reasonable rate?
Sounded like a good idea to us.
We’re not some large multinational company with overpaid executives looking to cram more money into our overflowing wallets, and drinking champagne from our yachts (I assume that’s what they do?!).
Our goal is simply to help other small-to-medium businesses by providing the most cost effective, all inclusive social media platform on the market. A big call, but a challenge we’re willing to take to ensure all businesses gain access to a system usually reserved for the big brands.
The result
