It’s 3 weeks in and I’m happy to report SocialMotus has been receiving quite positive reviews.

We still have a little way to go before the official release with the addition of more features, fixes and a complete re-design to come.

But it’s great to know you’re finding it to be a useful social management tool for your businesses.

One of the common questions we receive is what are the actual features you will gain access to?

We’ve packed SocialMotus full of so many, even those currently using it are unaware of certain features that exist!

So instead of my usual update on what’s happening with SocialMotus, here is an official review on SocialMotus.

    Overview

SocialMotus is a comprehensive social media tool catering to businesses of all sizes. Our goal is to ensure you achieve real value for your business from your social media efforts.

It goes beyond helping you effectively manage multiple social accounts, to making it easier for you to build engaged Twitter and Facebook communities.

You can expect a complete re-design of the interface for improved userability, support for LinkedIn and mobile and several new features coming in the near future.

We have just released a free version as an alternative to users who want a social management platform with a less cluttered interface than Tweetdeck and Hootsuite. For users who need more advanced features, we also have a low $9.99 plan to rival our competitors.

We’ve also made it much more cost effective for those with multiple team members, with lowers prices than most, if not all similar competitors.

    Highlights:

    • Manage all Facebook & Twitter accounts with multiple team members efficiently
    • Discover targeted Twitter followers & effectively interact with followers who offer your business the most value.
    • Access advanced monitoring filters including keyword topics and exclusions to ensure only the most relevant conversations are brought to your attention.
    • Quickly set up a special inbox for priority conversations to provide fast support and customer service over social media.
    • Create tracking campaigns to understand exactly how Twitter and Facebook have helped achieve your marketing objectives.

    Manage

SocialMotus goes beyond a simple management tool and helps you build a thriving community.

    Social Accounts

    • Add all the Facebook and Twitter accounts you want to manage using SocialMotus.
    • You can activate multiple Twitter autoresponders, feed filters and priority keywords for each social account.
    • Advanced filters ensure your marketing efforts reach more users, but you can quickly engage with anyone who discusses your topic.

    SocialMotus Manage Social Accounts

    Manage Followers/Manage Following

    • We’ve made it easy to manage Twitter users by creating a separate tab to manage your followers (Manage followers) and those you’re following (Manage Following).
    • You can filter users by who is following you and who isn’t.
    • With all the information we offer, you can effectively determine if you want to unfollow, follow, or message the user
    • We’ll be adding ‘New Followers’, ‘Top Supports’ and ‘Top Engagers’ filters in the near future

You’ll be able to spend the limited time you have on the most valuable users for your business, and create the thriving Twitter community you’ve always wanted.

    SocialMotus Manage Following

    Discover Leads

Most Twitter follower tools are based on keywords only. Our tool helps you find more targeted Twitter followers who are likely to engage with you. You’ll be able to filter users by:

    1. Finding users who follow someone similar to you.
    2. Finding list owners who have added someone similar to you to their Twitter lists.
    3. Finding users who retweet someone similar to you.
    4. Keywords (Coming soon).

Then narrow down the results using our advanced search filter. For example, you can specify what keywords the Twitter list or user description needs to contain.

    • For example, users views this specific Twitter lists when they are most interested in discovering tweets based on this topic. if you tweet about social media and follow users who have Twitter lists dedicated to social media, there is a higher chance they will add you to their list.
    • In the results page we show you their following/follower ratio to help you determine if they’re likely to follow you back.

Now you simply follow anyone you feel can become a valuable part of your community.

    Publish

    New Post

SocialMotus provides you with two ways to post new messages.

    1. You can go to the publish section OR
    2. Use the bookmarklet to quickly publish posts from the website you found content from.

SocialMotus offers rich media integration into posting allowing you to:

    • Choose images.
    • Schedule posts once off or periodically (Handy for promotions, new product launches or anything important you want to post multiple times for).
    • Add messages to your tracking campaign.
    • Select the specific and number of social accounts to post from at once.

Here you can view all your scheduled posts for each or all your social accounts. You can edit or delete these posts if needed.

    History

Sometimes its hard to keep track of what you’ve posted. That’s why we’ve logged all the posts you’ve sent through SocialMotus in this History folder so you can see what posts have been sent.

    Engage

SocialMotus together your engagements for all your Twitter and Facebook accounts into one simple platform.

    We noticed that:

    • Some people prefer a birdseye view of their engagements with multiple engagement types on one screen
    • While others prefer view only one engagement type at a time.

Of course, we decided to cater for both! Now you don’t have to compromise on what way you like to view engagements.

    Dashboard

This is dedicated to users who want to view multiple engagement types at once. Here you can:

    • Perform a range of actions such as reply, archive, assign to team member etc.
    • Click the x button on top of each engagement type if you don’t want to see it.
    • Filter engagements by clicking on ‘Filter’ and typing in a keyword the message needs to contain. Fantastic for when you want to view, say, any mentions of our new product only.

    Individual engagement types

For those who prefer to view individual engagement types separately, just need to click on the engagement type on the left hand side.

    SocialMotus Individual Engagements

    Priority Inbox

I want to draw your attention to our priority messages feature. This creates a separate tab for your most important messages. These could be customer service related, even related or any topic that is most important to your business. This is how it works.

    1. Set up priority keywords. For example, if you use Twitter or Facebook as a support channel, you could add the words such as support, help etc.
    2. Now, when Twitter and Facebook messages directed at your account contain these keywords they’ll be placed in a special ‘priority inbox’. Your team can now quickly resolve any issues or answer priority questions to ensure you never miss an opportunity to improve your relationship with your audience.

    Tasks Assigned

If you want to view all the tasks assign to you, then simply pop over here to quickly respond to these engagements.

    Reports

This provides a quickly overview of how engaged your Twitter and Facebook community is with you. Closely monitor this for increases and decreases in engagements.

    • By default you see the engagements for the week for different accounts.
    • Below for SocialMotus Twitter account I can see the number of retweets, notifications, direct messages and mentions I received for the week.
    • Afterwards you can change the reporting period to view your engagement trend over a longer period of time.

    Monitor

    Keyword settings

Rather than a simple keyword search, we’ve added some extra components to help you more easily monitor important keywords for your business.

    • You can group your keywords to monitor by topic e.g. products, competitors, events etc.
    • Then specify the keywords you want to monitor under each topic.
    • You can also exclude any keywords you don’t want to show up to ensure only relevant results appear.

    SocialMotus Keyword Settings

    Dashboard

While most tools limit you to Twitter, in SocialMotus you can quickly view results for both public Twitter and Facebook posts! You simply need to filter by topic and/or keywords depending on what results you want to see.

    Our ‘Advanced’ option lets you:

    • Specify whether you want it to be exact (must contain the keyword) or broad (contains similar keywords) match.
    • Enter keywords to exclude here for times when you only want to exclude keywords temporarily.

Need more information on a user before you respond? No problems. Simply hover your mouse over their username.

Note: You will need to click through to their Facebook profile and add them as a friend or direct message them due to Facebook restrictions.

    SocialMotus Monitor Keywords Dashboard

    Feeds

SocialMotus displays the Twitter feeds of all your Twitter accounts in this section. This is all the tweets of users you are following. Chances are you won’t want to see tweets from everyone you’re following. As such, you can filter your feed in 3 ways.

    • Twitter lists you’ve created
    • Any keyword you type in the ‘filter’ box
    • Feed filters. A pre-defined a list of keywords you want to use to filter the feeds so you don’t always have to manually type it in the ‘filter’ box.

    SocialMotus Twitter Feeds

    Measure

    Publish Stats

Here you can find statistics for each post you’ve made through SocialMotus.

While most monitoring tools will only show you overall clicks, SocialMotus breaks down this number by browser. Doing this actually lets you see how many of these clicks were generated by real people.

    • If a person has clicked on your post, we record the browser they viewed your page on.
    • If a bot clicks on your post, they don’t actually view your page so it comes under the label ‘robots’. You can see in the image below, 66% of clicks were bots.

    SocialMotus Publish Stats

    Tracking campaign

Tracking campaigns let you see whether your social media efforts has actually helped your business and marketing objectives such as visitors, signups etc.

    • All you need to do is create your campaign
    • Add the unique tracking code to the web pages you want to track.
    • Then when you assign any message sent through SocialMotus to a specific tracking campaign, making sure you include a link to the webpage in your Twitter tweet or Facebook post.

SocialMotus will then aggregate the results of all the posts within each campaign. Now you can see exactly how your social media posts have helped you achieve marketing objectives!

    SocialMotus Tracking Campaign Creation

We also plan to offer Google Analytics and Facebook Insights reports in the near future.

    Settings

    Team members

SocialMotus enables you to add team members to help you manage your social accounts.

The best part is you can allocate specific roles to each member to determine the level of access they have e.g. restricting access on billing information.

Each team member has their own tasks assignment inbox within the monitor and engagement panels, providing for efficient engagement.

    Rules

Here you can set up your autoresponder, feed filter and priority messages.

    SocialMotus Settings Tab

With SocialMotus you can create multiple priority messages and autoresponders. Then simply head over to the Manage>Social Accounts section to activate it for specific social accounts.

    Summary

SocialMotus offers a clean, simple interface for efficient social management and ease of developing new connections.

We recommend it for any business looking for a social management tool packed full of advanced features without the hefty price tag.

If you’re looking to go beyond the basics and create more value from their social media efforts, SocialMotus is the tool for you.
