We recommend you assign each post to a specific tracking campaign. This way SocialMotus will aggregate the results of all the posts under each campaign. For example, you might create a tracking campaign called “Christmas Promotions 2012” and send 10 messages to promote this campaign. If you assign these 10 posts to “Christmas Promotions 2012”, you will be able to see the combined statistics of these messages i.e. the total number of clicks for these 10 messages.
If you are tracking metrics such as visits/traffic or clicks that do not require users to perform any action other than visiting a page, you will not need to place a tracking code in the webpage you are tracking.
If you are tracking conversions such as sales, subscriptions, signups, or downloads, add the unique tracking code that appears to the webpage you want to track. For example, you can add it to the “Thank you” page or “Confirmation” page shown after people perform an action on your website, such as signing up to your product trial or placing an order.
