Looking for a way to waste time at work? Google’s animated Google doodle will do the trick. This time it honours the 78th birthday of American electrical engineer Robert ‘Bob’ Moog with a virtual interpretation of the electronic music ‘Moog’ synthesizer.
It’s the most advanced animated doodle I’ve seen with several options for adjusting the sounds with the ability to adjust mixer, oscillator, filter and envelope controls. Users can record your own music, play it back and share it on Google +.
Robert Moog, born 1934 was only a teenager when he began his career in building electric music instruments. His Moog synthesizer revolutionized the music industry, even earning him a Grammy Award for his technical achievements in 2002. Despite losing his battle with a brain tumour and passing in 2005, the memory of his engineering feats will be remembered for years to come.
Enough chitchat from me. Check out the video showcasing my musical genius. That’s sarcasm by the way. Please don’t leave hate comments!
